I hope everyone is doing well. Going forward this week a few things to remember.
• Please email me each morning by 9am so I can mark your child present. In order for your child to be marked present for the day, work needs to be submitted by 8pm.
• Please have your child log into getepic.com for 20 minutes a day.
• We will also be including physical fitness into our day. Each day the students should be competing in the daily fitness challenge for kids. They should spend about 15 minutes a day doing the workouts. Another great source is gonoodle.com.

• Please complete 2 pages of handwriting each day

Reading- Students will read The Lunch Bunch and answer comprehension questions
Word Works- Students will review verb tenses workbook page 17
Writing- Write a letter to your friends. Convince them to play the game you want to play. State your opinion. Give three good reasons why you feel the way you do. Write a good ending that will make your friends agree with you.
Some things to think about as you write your letter.
1. Does it give good reasons for your opinion?
2. Do your sentences begin with a capital letter?
3. Do your sentences end with an end mark?

Math Topic 14.3
Topic- More Addition, Subtraction, and Length
Objective- Students will add or subtract to solve measurement problems by using drawings and equations

Religion

Students will watch a video about Holy Communion and write 4 things they learned from the video

Social Studies-
Topic-Making a problem solving plan
A recess coach is a person who works at school during recess! The recess coach makes sure that students are safe and having fun during recess. Sometimes, recess coaches help students who are having a problem. A problem might be that a student said something unkind and their feelings are hurt. One way that recess coaches help students is by making a problem solving plan with them. This plan is meant to help a student come up with ways to solve their problem.
Students will answer the following:
Students will write 3 ways to solve their problems . Use as many details as possible.

Writing- Write one paragraph about 1 thing you would like to do this summer and why

Math Topic 14 Project
Getting Buggy
Arthropods are animals that have many jointed legs, and a segmented body. Crabs, millipedes, and spiders are all arthropods. Insects are living things. All insects have 3 body parts, 2 antennae, and 6 legs. Fossils have been found in dragonflies that were 27 inches across. That is more than 2 feet long!
Make Insect Drawings
Find out how long the world’s longest stick bug is. Find out how long the world’s longest millipede is. Write the measurement in centimeters. Make drawings of the insects that are their real size. Circle the insect that is longer. Find out how much longer it is. Make sure to show all your work!

Students will write about a time that a friend helped them. How did it make you feel when your friend helped you? What can you do to show your friend how you felt?
